Project Details:
This is an Environmental Improvement scheme to help protect the existing protected habitats within the Howth Peninsula using techniques and materials that are appropriate to the landscape which includes the Howth Special Amenity Area Order (SAAO), Howth Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and Howth Special Protection Area (SPA).

The works will therefore aim to prevent further erosion of the paths and improve the experience for the local community the wider community and tourists by upgrading the existing paths and installing some new paths and boardwalk.

The contract will involve the following:

  • Site setup including temporary fencing, information signs, and creating path closures.
  • Self-binding aggregate path repairs
  • Construction of new concrete path
  • Existing step repairs
  • New boardwalk section
